GAVL Is Sponsoring the Hot Stove Banquet on Jan. 17

Our legal marketing company, GAVL, is proud to announce our sponsorship of the Hot Stove Banquet, which is taking place in the Grand Ballroom of the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport, PA on Wed., Jan. 17, 2024. The event, slated to get underway at 6:30 p.m., features a multi-course dinner, Q&A sessions with special guests, and live auctions of sports memorabilia. A portion of banquet proceeds will go to the Lycoming County United Way, a long-time charity partner of the Williamsport Crosscutters.

Banquet attendees announced thus far include Ed Ott, a Muncy native and former catcher with the Pittsburgh Pirates who was on the Pirates in 1979 when they won the World Series Championship and his former teammate Kent Tekulve.

Another distinguished guest includes the Emmy-winning Chris Carlin, a former broadcaster with the Williamsport Cubs and now, among other accomplishments, national co-host of ESPN Radio’s weekday program from 12-3 p.m., Carlin vs. Joe. He will be inducted into the Bowman Field Hall of Fame at the event. Tim Kurkjian, ESPN Hall of Fame baseball analyst, will also be in attendance at the event.

Also recognized at the event will be South Williamsport High School multi-sport athlete Denise Day, who will be added to the Williamsport Sports Walk. The hitter went on to become an All-American with Nebraska University between 1982 and 1985 and continues to hold many of the university softball team’s offensive records.
