Start a Conversation with GAVLMay’s a big month for GAVL. It’s our anniversary of being in business for 10 years! May 2nd is the official anniversary date, but we’re a sucker for celebrations, so we’re celebrating the whole month long!
We’re humbled and proud to have made it this far, back from the beginning when there were just three of us (Ryan, Tad, and myself) sharing hopes and dreams in Skype and wondering what the next day would bring. As it would turn out, the next day brought bright things. And the next, and the next. Until today. And the days forward still burn brighter.
We couldn’t be prouder of our team members. We wouldn’t be here without all of the hard work and dedication you put in every single day. Thank you for all that you do.
We’d also like to thank our clients, who make these bright days possible. We’re humbled and honored that you all trust us with your businesses and livelihoods. As you all are quite aware, the legal industry is one of the toughest industries to be in, and competition is cutthroat. It means everything to us that we can help you and your talented legal teams put their best selves forward every day.
In honor of our 10-year anniversary, we have a few cool things we’d like to share.

Despite us being from all four corners of the U.S., we’ve had some great in-person meetups over the years. Early on we did a Las Vegas trip that was unforgettable, and I still remember Ryan (after a few drinks, let’s just say) shouting silly things from the top of a limo out to the world. We also had a couple amazing holiday dinners together where we shared successful stories of the year over wine and limoncellos. Events like this remind us we’re family.”

My favorite memory is the annual Christmas party. Since we’re a remote team, we don’t get many chances to spend time together in person. This is a nice way to kick back, have some fun, and get to know each other beyond work. I also found out I’m really good at bingo. One of my favorite throwback memories from our office days has to be the epic Mario Kart and Monopoly showdowns. The best memories are when we’re all in a meeting talking business, and then somehow we get sidetracked by the most random topic. Sometimes a few people know a ton about it, and the rest of us are hearing about it for the first time. Some of those tangents only last a couple minutes, and some completely derail the meeting, but they’re always worth it. I also really enjoy the conversations about GAVL’s future growth and where we can take things next.”

It’s hard to narrow it down to just one favorite memory, but I’d have to say it’s our team meetings. We’ll take a deep dive into a client and brainstorm solutions together, and then the conversation naturally shifts into catching up on our weeks and personal lives. There’s always a lively discussion…whether it’s about what we are cooking for dinner and swapping the best ways to cook up a turkey dinner, sharing sports team predictions or something random like what’s the best boy band from the early 2000’s. It’s been really special to be part of such a supportive and fun group of coworkers, not just to bounce ideas off of, but to share personal milestones with as well.
